How to redirect a domain in cPanel
What is domain redirection?
Sometimes it is necessary for you to re-direct traffic from one domain to another domain. This can be done at the domain level or for specific web pages. Redirecting the actual domain name is like pointing it to another domain name. If you already have a domain name and you were not using other hosting service, redirecting a domain offers the best solution you need. It can be easily done at the domain level or at web page level. For example, Hoasted.com and its website can be redirected to another domain and Hoasted.com/aboutus.html can be redirected to another Hoasted.com/about.

Different types of redirection
Redirecting a domain name to another website involves several ways like inline redirect, forwarding redirect, redirecting a domain name with a DNS adaptation. With an inline redirect you can link up your domain name directly to file or other servers. Using forwarding redirect, users will find an automatic link to another server. Redirecting a domain name allows the user to send all of the visitors of a particular page to a different URL. It is easy to set up and it’s free.
A permanent redirect will inform the visitor’s browser to update any bookmarks that are linked up with the web page that is going to be redirected. The temporary redirects will not update the any visitor bookmarks. You can choose to forward your inactive domain to a variety of places and also forward your page to a different page by redirecting domain.
There are many search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing that prefer 301 (permanent) redirects. These redirects can be changed and erased as desired. You must know that the 302 (temporary) redirects actually behave like 301 redirects. But, they are not preferred because visitors and search engines are redirected without updating the bookmark.
