My FTP client says too many connections
Opening multiple connections on the FTP software without the closing the previous ones after a file transfer process, results in idle FTP connections. These idle connections may also be a result of incorrect or faulty settings.
Hosting plans like VPS, Dedicated and Managed plans have the function of controlling or managing the number of connections that can be opened simultaneously. In most cases, this number is 10. Pushing this limit will receive error messages while increasing the default number itself may prevent error messages.
If, in one single account, too many FTP connections are opened, then the server is going to reject it. Also, if you upload too many or large files at once and then receive this message, then restarting the application or software can be a remedy since it will hard reset all your connections and re-initiate them.
