Find the CSS ID of an element using “inspect element”

When looking at a page element you can find the css id of an element using the inspect element tool. In the images you can see an example. The procedure is simple:

  1. Right click the element you are analyzing
  2. Select “inspect element”
  3. Have a look at the classes and id assigned to this element

Some browsers have this ‘developer tool’ hidden away. Like safari for example. You can fine the developer console under the settings there. We generally recommend switching to Google Chrome when doing development work.
