How domain privacy functions

The Whois database is available for everyone on the internet. It offers people the possibility to check the status or the information about an existing domain name. If you register a domain, no matter which top level domain (.com, .org, .nl, etc.) information about you is made public in a whois database. Spammers and marketing companies may find there your name, address, email address and phone number.

Hoasted offers domain privacy, an anonymisation of your contact details.  Using this service, your confidential contact details are no longer available for the public and will be replaced by our contact details. In this way people can still reach you, without your personal contact details being online available.

If you want to add domain privacy to your domain, the only thing you have to do is to check the Domain Privacy Addon when ordering a domain or contact our customer service.
